Around a 100 pounds, the Mahseer is popular as the world’s toughest fresh water fish and can be found in India only. In the rivers flowing in various parts of India, this fish comes in four varieties: the Golden Mahseer, the Silver Mahseer, the Silver Grey Mahseer and the Black Mahseer.
You arrive from Kolkata (Calcutta) and are received at Guwahati airport and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the city. Guwahati, the biggest city of Assam, is treated as The Gateway to Northeast India and it is the most important destination in the entire region. Located on the bank of the River Brahmaputra, it is the largest commercial, industrial and educational center of the region. In the evening, with our representative accompanying you, you set out on a River cruise to watch the sun go down the river and see yourself why the river is locally called ‘Luit’- the color of blood. Dinner & overnight is at the resort.
After an early breakfast at your hotel, you will drive to Eco Camp inside the Nameri National Park. This is located 208km from Guwahati, are approximately a 6-7 hours drive. Reach Eco Camp and check-in into your respective cottages. After lunch with your naturalist, go rafting on Bhoroli River, the famous Angling spot in this part of India, in search of the Golden “Mahsheer”. Return to the Eco camp for dinner & overnight.
Early morning you go on Elephant back ride inside the National Park. You return to camp for breakfast, followed by a drive to the Angling site with your naturalist guide. The spots on Bhoroli River are regarded as an angler’s paradise. These spots are the natural habitat of Golden Mahseer, the dream catch of anglers. Picnic lunch on the Angling site. You return to the Eco Camp by the evening with the day’s catch for dinner & overnight.
After an early breakfast at the camp, you drive with your naturalist to Bhalukpung and visit the Orchid farm at Tipi. This farm, with a collection of 7500 orchids, has been set up to study the botanical paradise – the orchids of Arunachal Pradesh. Return to camp for an early lunch and proceed on to the Angling site for some more catch for the day. Return to camp in the evening for dinner & overnight.
After an early breakfast, you drive to Kaziranga (158km distance from Nameri National Park) and approximately 5 hours drive. Upon arrival, we check into our Lodge Hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the beautiful surrounding of nearby villages. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Early morning you undertake an elephant safari with your naturalist guide, to explore the central area of Kaziranga National park. Riding an Elephant through the park chasing a unicorn rhino along with a wide range of rare species is something t o remember for the rest of our lives. You return to your lodge for lunch and later in the afternoon take another jeep safari with the naturalist to the central area of the park. Return late evening to the Lodge Hotel for dinner & overnight.
